Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I went to Valvoline on Tuesday, February 3rd for a routine oil change and arrived about 35 minutes before closing, which should have been more than enough time for a place that advertises “15-minute oil changes,” but this ended up being one of the most unprofessional service experiences I’ve had. At first things seemed fine while the customer service rep, Emiliano, checked my lights and tires, but shortly after that he disappeared from the bay area, and while waiting I overheard the bottom-side tech, Angel, say “drain plug tight, ready for oil,” even though there was no top-side technician present. My car then sat there doing absolutely nothing for about 12 minutes. When Emiliano finally came back, he had to ask around to see if anyone had even replaced my top oil filter, which showed a complete lack of coordination and accountability, and he then rushed through the rest of the service without checking my fluids or my air filter. After turning on my car and checking the oil pressure, I asked why those items weren’t checked, and only then did he say “I’ll check them right now,” yet the only thing they actually did was top off my washer fluid. As I was leaving, I spoke with the assistant manager and explained that the work felt rushed and careless; while I understand it was close to closing time, that does not excuse cutting corners or half-doing the job, especially when I was there for almost an hour. To make matters worse, the assistant manager insisted all my fluids had been checked and claimed the coolant “looked good” and didn’t need topping off, which directly contradicted what I personally witnessed and felt more like damage control than honesty. If this is how customers are treated near closing time, they should either stop taking cars that late or provide the same level of service they promise, because rushed work, poor communication, skipped checks, and misleading claims are unacceptable when it comes to vehicle maintenance, and I will not be returning or recommending this location.

I had a really disappointing and unsafe experience here today around 5 PM. As I was pulling up, the two men working completely ignored me while I was trying to turn into the location. Another car was blocking the entrance, and instead of helping guide me in, they left me sitting out in the street and continued to ignore me. This was unacceptable and honestly unsafe. I didn’t feel comfortable or valued as a customer, and I won’t be returning to this Valvoline.

The whole team worked very well together. The information provided was thorough and helpful, but nothing was forced upon us. Their diligence and attention to details was great. The wait time was minimal and the speed during service was perfect.
