I requested a specific oil weight at the beginning of the check in process but received an oil weight I did not want in my vehicle. The representatives did not listen to my request nor did they confirm the type of oil I wanted. Then I requested to have the correct oil put in and was refused. I was told I had to purchase another oil change to have it replaced. I did not feel valued as a customer. I didn’t feel I should have to pay for another oil change when the mistake was the representatives.

I came in for a simple oil change and left with a non-functional car. I made it less than half a mile. During my visit, a hose was detached and this led to my car seizing up at 45 mph at a freeway on-ramp. Three warning lights came on, I could not accelerate or brake, and my steering wheel locked. Restarting the car got me some of the way until it seized again. And through a combination of blind luck and the courtesy of those around me, I made it back to Valvoline with my emergency lights on the whole way. The problem was identified and fixed right away. Because of inattentiveness, I was both in danger and a danger to others on the road. I didn't think a refund was too much to ask at that point. An hour passed. The assistant manager said the whole thing was "No big deal" and the manager later agreed, saying "[I] made it back just fine." I got a refund on the oil change alone. Apparently the customer safety at Valvoline is worth just under sixty dollars.

I was unable to use my discount coupon because I was owed $35 from the last time I got my oil changed Because they sold me an air filter that did not fit my car and as I had already paid, they said they would send me a check but never did so after refunding me for the air filter that did not fit they could not use my discount coupon
