So went for a oil change at the Westport avenue Norwalk garage and the older gentleman I believe his name was Rob took care of me and he was very helpful and pointed out what I needed and took his time and it's my first time there but the experience was very good and I will be returning need more people like the guy that took care of me customer service was great service was great and I just want to say way to go Valvoline thank you

Well, the manager is certainly charismatic . Unfortunately, I am as well, and I don’t think he will expect this review. He keeps doing this thing where he discounts the price to like $80, framing it as a discount, and then pressures me for the difference as a tip, which I’ve never known to be a standard practice at Valvoline and feels off. He went on a long tangent where I had to basically listen to him talk about his daughter on and on when it’s like I don’t wanna be giving you therapy- I’m here for an oil change, but I was polite and smiled, and even laughed at his stories which felt draining . He said she did her nails often and was way into art, because he saw that I had nail polish and a painting I had done in my car. He then couldn’t find any pictures of her with her nails done or with art, which proved that he was just trying to charm me and make me feel bad for him because he has a daughter who is dependent on him, which is his choice and responsibility. He basically talked me up, then pressured me for money. The first time I said no. The second time I went there he had an angry face so I said OK. If he’s doing this to everyone he’s making at least an extra $150 a day for himself or maybe just 100 but that seems off. I’ve just never had that happen at any of the Valvoline and it seems like it’s not congruent with the policy . ☺️☺️
