I have been other places where they have overfilled the oil and one place where they used a pair of channel locks to remove/reinstall the canister style filter housing. They had put a hole in it and as soon as the engine is started it shoots oil out. They gave it to me like that. They probably never started the engine and let the filter fill with oil then recheck. I was an hour away when I smelled burning oil. I normally do all my own maintenance, but I do not have a place to work on vehicles.
