I like oil changes at valvoline because they're fast and courteous but its not the best value; its always over $100. I can go where i normally get my car work done and pay much less. I only stopped in because I had a 20% of coupon and it was convenient with children in tow. The tech addressed my cabin filter and said they're normally $30+ but today he could give it to me for $17 and thats the only reason I agreed. Its obviously much cheaper for me to purchase it & replace it on my own & its definitely not beyond my skill level to do so. On my invoice it's listed at 31.99 and shows the 20% off from my coupon. Now i can understand if there is no stacking of those discounts but no mention was made of this when i produced the coupon or when it came time to pay. I only received an emailed invoice and not a printed as i have in previous visits or i would have addressed the cost before i left. Now i'll never get that money back and its very upsetting thats exactly how some bigger companies nickel and dime people. This experience solidifies why i prefer small, locally owned companies. Thanks for the burn, I should've known better.
