⭐☆☆☆☆ I had a terrible experience at Valvoline today, and I will never return. I went in for a basic oil change, which is something I have had done here before. I understand that my vehicle recommends synthetic oil, but I have always chosen conventional oil and understand that it is my decision. Instead of simply respecting my choice, the employees became rude and unprofessional when they realized they could not convince me to pay more for a service I did not want. They also attempted to bring up a leak, which I was already aware of. I came in for an oil change, not to be pressured into additional services. What really made the experience worse was hearing one employee yell across the room to another, saying, “Bro, I’ma let you know she already know what’s wrong, so don’t waste your time.” That level of unprofessionalism was completely unnecessary and made the entire interaction uncomfortable. Customers should be able to make informed decisions about their own vehicles without being pressured, talked down to, or treated with an attitude because they decline an upsell. There is a difference between informing a customer about a recommendation and trying to pressure them into spending more money. Unfortunately, this experience reinforced my concerns about how some automotive service businesses treat women who come in to have their vehicles serviced. Customer service and professionalism matter, regardless of whether a customer agrees to every recommended service. I will not be returning or trusting this location with any of my future vehicles. A business cannot expect to retain customers when its employees treat people this way.
