Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Realizing how low my oil actually was on Saturday and with plans to drive to WI the next day, I stopped here for a quick oil change. I haven’t been here before, but when I googled “quick oil change by me”, this was what came up. I had my 3 kids in the car and we were planning to go to dinner for my birthday shortly after. When I pulled in they told me it would be about 10 minutes. Well, about 5 minutes in I could see them on their phones and whispering and I overheard one of the guys there say they didn’t have “it” in stock. One of the guys then came over and told me they didn’t have the oil filter and they couldn’t do the oil change, though they still tried to sell me some other type of filter. I declined because I really needed the oil change. Before leaving there, I had called the Jiffy Lube on McLean ahead of time to see if they had what was needed for my oil change- they did not, but they were able to track it down for me and had it at their location in a hour. So after pulling out from the Valvoline and making a right onto Randall Rd it sounded like I had driven over something. When I got further away and looked in my rearview mirror I saw something black on the ground laying in the street behind me and thought I drove over something. When I got to Jiffy Lube and popped the car hood for them, they told me my gas cap was missing, and oil had spilled all over the inside of my car. What I thought was something I had driven over in the road after pulling out of Valvoline, was actually my OIL CAP that they neglectfully did not put back on. The manager from the Jiffy Lube I went to called over to Valvoline to let them know about the situation, and that they owed me an oil cap. At this point it was about 3:30/4pm. Jiffy Lube had called around to find a store near by that had the oil cap I needed in stock and was able to locate it at an auto parts store in Batavia. The manager, Brandon, from Valvoline had told the Jiffy Lube manager, Anthony, that he would go get it from the store in Batavia and bring it over. When I called Valvoline myself to express how upset and frustrated I was and find out what was going on, Brandon said he had to wait for his ride to pick him up?? Not apologetic to the situation at all. Didn’t offer any kind of update as to when he was coming. Both Jiffy Lube and Valvoline closed at 5, so once that happened we had no way of getting an update as to when Brandon was coming. I waited at Jiffy Lube with my 3 young kids from 4-7pm for him to bring the oil cap! Luckily there was a Wendy’s next door because I had to walk there to get dinner for my kids and the employees that were stuck at Jiffy Lube waiting with me for the oil cap to come. Absolutely terrible experience with Valvoline- between the negligence of not replacing the oil cap, to how they then handled the situation. Would not recommend this place, but the Jiffy Lube on McLean was amazing and went above and beyond for me
