Went to Valvoline for a standard oil change and inspection at the end of July and everything checked out at the shop, including my battery. I went to a car wash nearby, and upon attempting to start my car again after vacuuming, the battery was dead. I popped the hood to find my “good” battery covered in corrosion (1st photo). Thankfully, one of the associates at the car wash had a portable jumper and restarted the car. I took it back to Valvoline, where they performed another test on the battery, which showed the battery was not good. They replaced the battery and charged me full price, barely recognizing the danger and stress their carelessness brought on.
Fast forward to today, when my battery has died again, and again is covered in corrosion (2nd photo). I am getting a replacement right now, delivered by the Glen Carbon Valvoline, but will not be returning for any service in the future. Have been a regular customer through four different vehicles over fifteen years. No more.
Two stars because although they didn’t perform their job well, the mechanics are always friendly.

The guy who helped me was awesome. I was in a rush to get to work and he was able to give me a realistic expectation of the wait and told me which one would be faster. He was eventually able to get me taken care of quickly, was super friendly, and provided good advice on a couple of things. Price was a bit high but the coupon made it comparable.
