I alerted the employee to a desire to use a coupon and was told to present it, then he walked away. When I was rung up, I was told that a discount was applied, which I took to be the coupon. However, it was for an added service that I agreed to, not for a coupon. When I realized this, I asked if the coupon could be applied. The employee told me that since he had already charged me, he couldn't do anything about it. I understand that I came in towards the end of the day (30 min before closing) and the employees likely wanted to clock out, but I have never had anyone tell me they could not correct a payment mistake. I see that as a very poor business practice. He gave me a coupon for future use, but I'd rather have used the coupon now, and found another coupon for the future.
