When I arrived, the intake technician checked my lights, tire pressure, and other basics. While my engine was running, he unscrewed the coolant cap, causing it to boil over. Panicking, he replaced the cap and asked me to turn off the car. He then brought out yellow coolant, even though my Volkswagen uses pink coolant, which shouldn’t be mixed. I stopped him from pouring it in and explained this, but he claimed Valvoline coolant was compatible with all types and that it was standard to open the cap with the engine running, despite everything I’ve heard advising against it. I asked not to top off the coolant and inquired if it was safe to drive. He assured me it was. After the oil change, my coolant light came on as I left. At home, I found the reservoir empty and had to fill it three times to reach the correct level. Normally, they do a good job, but today they were careless and made excuses instead of owning their mistake.
