I’ve actually been coming to this location for over 10 years plus and I have met many work crews here. They’ve all been very good. The staff they currently have is so friendly, welcoming, courteous, efficient, and fast.. they are led by Sean And he is very professional and kind. His workers always check all the fluids, and filters. Tyson and Isaac did a great job on the vehicle. They Make sure everything is in working order and Stefan As a greeter who comes out while I’m in the parking lot is so welcoming. Valvoline is very lucky to have this staff in the St Matthews location.. I recommend them highly to anyone and I hope they are treated with respect because they are definitely awesome Valvoline employees.

Very disappointed with my experience at Valvoline on Shelbyville Road in Louisville, KY. I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change on August 16, and shortly afterward I began experiencing problems with the vehicle. Over the following weeks, I noticed a check-engine light, a burning smell, hesitation, and serious acceleration issues. I took my vehicle to Chevrolet on September 23, where I was informed that the oil had been significantly overfilled and had gotten throughout the engine compartment, creating a potential safety/fire hazard. I was also told that the spark plugs may have been damaged and that there could be additional engine damage that still needs to be diagnosed. I am currently facing $900+ in charges, with the possibility of additional repairs. I contacted Valvoline because I believe this situation needs to be investigated and addressed. The manager told me she would contact me with an update by the end of the day, but the day ended and I never received a call, text, or any update. As of now, I am still waiting to hear back. Treat it as if it’s not an importance because it’s not their vehicle ! I trusted Valvoline with a basic oil change with “certified technicians” and am now left without reliable transportation, potentially facing significant repair costs, and having to figure out how to get around. I expect better communication and accountability when a customer is dealing with a potentially serious safety issue. I need Valvoline to contact me, investigate what happened, and work toward resolving this situation ASAP SECOND UPDATE: At this point, I am extremely frustrated with how this has been handled. I am now looking at $900+ in costs just to have my vehicle diagnosed/repaired, and I have been told there may be additional expenses once everything is fully evaluated. I am also being left without a vehicle, which means I now have to figure out transportation to work and my everyday responsibilities. I need a rental vehicle while this is being resolved, and this has created an expense and inconvenience that I never planned for. What bothers me most now is the lack of urgency and communication. I was specifically told that the manager would reach back out to me with an update before the end of the day. She never did. No call. No text. No update. Nothing. I should not have to repeatedly chase a company after paying for a service and then being left dealing with a major vehicle issue. This is my transportation, my money, my time, and my responsibility to figure out how to get around—and it feels like the situation is being treated as though it isn’t important because it’s not their vehicle sitting at the dealership. I am asking Valvoline management to stop leaving me waiting and contact me directly ASAP. I need answers, I need to know what is being done about the costs I am facing, and I need assistance with transportation/rental while this is being investigated. I trusted Valvoline. At this point, I simply want the company to show that same level of concern for my vehicle and my situation that I had when I trusted them with it.
