I very much dislike the attempts at upselling. When I drove up and was greeted, I very clearly stated that I only was there for an oil change, but the person started listing everything else I should have done. When I declined, he asked if I had the recommended work done elsewhere. I told him that was not his business. I had to firmly remind him that I was only there for an oil change. I acknowledged that I knew it was his job to pressure customers to buy more services, but I also told him it was offense when I was very clear that I was only there for an oil change. I'm sure he himself is pressured by Valvoline to upsell, so I wish Valvoline would not place its employees in this situation.
