Valvoline Instant Oil Change

This has been my go to place for oil changes for years. If I have time, I will purchase my own oil and filter and have them change it. This service has been between $25 and $35 since I’ve been coming here. I recently came to this location on 23 mile rd in Chesterfield, with my own oil and filter. I scratched the date onto the oil filter prior to my arrival. So I pull in, tell them I have my own stuff and they proceed to start the service. After they are part way thru, the service person tells me the cost is now $55. That’s quite the price increase. He tells me that the increase happened last year. I tell him that I just had this service done on a different vehicle in January and it was $35. I was upset and I dropped a swear word. He ultimately gave me a discount back to the $35 price.(this is not the issue but I want to be transparent with the low review) A few days later I’m having my tires rotated on a buddies lift. I happen to look at the oil filter and there is no date scratched on the bottom. Which means they either didn’t change my filter or they used a filter from their inventory. I call and talk to an assistant manager and tell him my issues. He tells me that he will make a note and have a manager call me the next day(Sunday). I never received a call. So first thing Monday I returned to the shop. I speak with the manager, who says he got the note and tells me he reviewed the video and that the oil filter was changed. I asked to see the video, which he does allow. I can’t tell for certain that it’s my vehicle but he assured me it was. So be aware when using this location. I will never be back.
