Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Really nice place. I love how they check and announce to make sure everything is in order and done properly. I like how they show you things that could help your vehicle. He showed me on the computer screen while sitting in my car. There’s this one guy that helped me. Really cool guy. I think this will be my stop for now on. Thanks. I’ll get his name next time. I’ll have to give him props.

I am very disappointed with my experience at this Valvoline location. In April, I brought my Toyota Camry (which I purchased last year) in for a routine oil change. After I got home, I noticed a strange noise coming from underneath the car. When I checked, I found that the skid plate had not been reinstalled after the oil change and was hanging underneath the vehicle. The next day, I returned to the shop. The staff reviewed their security cameras, acknowledged that it was their mistake, and ordered a replacement skid plate. It took approximately 45–60 days for the new skid plate to arrive, after which they finally installed it. When they installed the replacement skid plate, they also told me that the skid plate screw threads were damaged and said they would replace or repair them. However, they never did. Instead, they reinstalled the skid plate using the same damaged threads. As a result, the skid plate came loose again. Unfortunately, the problem happened again. About a month later, I returned for another oil change, and just 15 days afterward, the replacement skid plate came loose and was dragging on the ground again. The employees and managers at this location are fully aware of the previous issue, yet the same mistake was repeated. This is not just an inconvenience it is a safety concern. I should not have to keep making trips back to the shop because basic work was not completed correctly. I would like the owner of this location to look into this matter as soon as possible and ensure that proper quality checks are performed before vehicles are returned to customers. I trusted Valvoline with my vehicle, but after experiencing the same issue twice, I have lost confidence in the quality of the service at this location. I hope the owner takes this matter seriously so that other customers do not have to go through the same experience.

$117 for an oil change that normally costs me $70 in Livonia. Then said they don’t carry oil filters for Chevy Malibus and that I’d have to go to Auto Zone and buy one and bring it back to them to finish the service. This is the definition of enshitification of America.
