I had an unfortunate experience at this Valvoline recently.
When I arrived, an employee was directing traffic between the service bays. It wasn’t clear which bay he was indicating, so I rolled down my window and politely asked, “Yours or his?”
His response was, “The one I’m pointing to.”
The tone came across as demeaning and condescending. I was genuinely caught off guard and let him know that speaking to customers that way was rude. A simple, “This one, please,” would have answered my question politely. Instead, his response felt designed to try to make me feel dumb.
If I hadn’t been pressed for time, I honestly would have driven away and taken my business elsewhere.
Thankfully, the technician who serviced my vehicle was friendly, professional, and provided excellent customer service. During our conversation, he mentioned that James is the manager.
I hope James sees this review and uses it as a coaching opportunity for Jakob. Jakob, I hope for your employer’s sake you were just having a bad day and that this is not how you habitually treat customers.

They continually put pressure on me that my 2015 Nissan rogue needs synthetic oil. My vehicle calls for 5w-30. I had to show them in my owners manual for them to use conventional. They tried to up sell me on mor expensive oil that my car didn't need.
