Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Such a caring, knowledgeable, kind and considerate, professional group of crew members, and Manager Eddie wen't above and beyond. I had a great experience getting my oil change, on impromptu notice, and it was done so quickly, without any hiccups and it was such a smooth and transparent experience. I would highly recommend Vavoline instant oil change. I'm lucky for Valvoline because I wasn't aware I was in need of an oil change as badly as I was, but seeing Valvoline and being able to stop in on no notice, and away from home, and have it done so conveniently with such a kind, professional and caring crew team and manager? My cabin air filter was changed and that was also extremely helpful and considerate for them to have noticed, as well as having a very thorough car inspection to ensure the car was in complete working order. It was a pretty sweet experience, and I'd definitely go again.

To say I will never recommend this store or return to this facility is a huge understatement, especially if you own a Volvo or nice European car!! Don’t worry I’ll be going to corporate next because wrong people is all I will say! Went in for what was supposed to be a simple oil change.. only to end up at my dealership with 160$ worth of repairs needed due to lack of responsibility and lack of knowledge at the Valvoline Oil Change. When I was shown the proof and sent a video for evidence from my Volvo dealership it was determined valvoline failed to re attach my skid plate screws along with the crush washer on the drain plug, which then led to oil spewing out into my car and places it was not supposed to be. I was furious because I am one to take care of my car but we were over charged and now for what? To turn around and have to pay out of pocket for repairs due to their lack of training and work ethic?! Once I was made aware of all of this I immediately called the store and informed them and then asked to speak with a manager. I was told they needed to do their own investigation to make sure that’s what actually happened (like they wanted to try and place blame elsewhere) and then they would follow up with me within a day.. well they never did so I personally had to call back only to be told they couldn’t see everything and basically their “investigation” was bull so they offered me a free oil change and for the managers to personally watch them take care of my car when I come back… I made sure I was blunt and said I would never return to their facility and they were irresponsible! Maybe do your damn job or lose it! I will forever stick with Take5 Oil Change in Jacksonville NC because they are reliable and responsible and I’ve never had an issue and the manager always comes to check his workers work when we are in without question! Do not go to this facility and do not recommend anyone to it unless u want to deal with idiots

I went for a quick oil change and left with over $1,000 out of pocket expenses in unexpected repairs and tow. Being new to town, I chose Valvoline despite it not being my first choice. After this experience, I will make sure to go to a true mechanic going forward, even for something as basic as an oil change. I sat in my car for about 45 minutes before an attendant told me the oil drain plug was stripped and could not be fixed. Almost immediately, they began looking up my previous oil change history and blamed the last place that serviced my vehicle. After asking follow up questions, the explanations I was given did not line up realistically and did not seem factual. What is especially concerning is that if the drain plug was stripped, this should have been discovered almost immediately, not 45 minutes later. It felt more like an attempt was made to fix a mistake that occurred on site, and when that failed, the blame was shifted to the previous mechanic. I was also told the vehicle was leaking oil because of this issue, which makes little sense. As a significant amount of oil drained out when the bolt was removed. If the vehicle had truly been leaking oil for months, that would not have been the case. Additionally, if the bolt was supposedly so stripped, it’s hard to understand how it was still intact and functioning at all. These are only a few of the inconsistencies discussed, but overall, I strongly believe this issue was caused at this location. I contacted corporate and filed a complaint following the incident to investigate my visit and determine if I was being told the truth, but never received a response. Next I will be contacting BBB to have them investigate. I rarely leave Google reviews, but I feel it’s important to warn others, especially those who are new to town, not to settle for a “quick” decision. I strongly recommend being cautious and choosing another shop where proper training and basic knowledge for something as simple as an oil change are taken seriously.
