I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Valvoline. On June 25, 2026, I went in expecting a routine oil change. I was not having any transmission issues and did not request transmission service. During my visit, Valvoline recommended an automatic transmission fluid replacement (transmission flush), and I trusted their professional recommendation. Less than three weeks later, my vehicle began having serious transmission problems that it had never experienced before. What is extremely concerning is that I was later advised that the transmission flush should not have been performed. The new manager even stated that he personally would not have performed the service on my vehicle due to the mileage. If Valvoline's own management would not have done the service, why was it recommended and sold to me? Valvoline sent my vehicle to Bigger Automotive for diagnostic testing, but they continue to deny responsibility. They are now pointing to the mileage of my vehicle, even though they knew the mileage before recommending and performing the service. If the mileage made the service inappropriate, that should have been disclosed before the work was done not used afterward as a reason to avoid accountability. The offer of a free oil change as a resolution is completely unacceptable. I am dealing with potential transmission repairs, loss of reliable transportation, and significant stress because I trusted a service recommendation from Valvoline. A business should stand behind the services it recommends and performs. At a minimum, I believe I deserve a refund for the transmission service since they have denied helping with repairs. I have filed complaints with Valvoline Corporate and will be pursuing review through the Better Business Bureau and the Office of the Attorney General. I also encourage other customers who have experienced similar issues after Valvoline transmission services to come forward. Customers deserve honesty, accountability, and a company that stands behind its work.
