Valvoline Instant Oil Change

AVOID THIS LOCATION! Unauthorized work that threatens factory warranty. During a routine visit for my 2023 Kia, technicians topped off my coolant without my permission or knowledge while I was waiting in line. They put green "universal" antifreeze into a system that strictly requires the manufacturer's specified pink/red phosphate-based fluid. I then started the engine and drove the car forward from the line into the service bay. Running the engineeven just to move it 10 feet into the baymeans the water pump immediately mixed and cycled that incorrect fluid directly into the engine block. The local Kia dealership confirmed that because this incorrect fluid was introduced, any future cooling system or engine issues will not be covered under my factory warranty. When I confronted them, the shop manager and staff insisted it was "compatible" because it's a universal fluidignoring what my car's actual manufacturer requires. The manager refused to flush the system to fix their mistake right then and there. They claimed they "sucked out the reservoir," but my reservoir was completely full when I left. Furthermore, because the engine was started to move the car into the bay after they topped it off, sucking out the overflow tank later does absolutely nothing to decontaminate the loop once the fluid is already cycling through the engine. The district manager dismissed the mistake and refused to reimburse me for the mandatory machine flush required at the dealership to restore my factory warranty protection. Valvoline performed unauthorized work, ignored vehicle specifications, and left me with a compromised warranty. Do not trust them with newer vehicles!
