I went to this Valvoline for a vehicle inspection and had an experience that I consider completely unacceptable.
The technician who got into my manual-transmission car clearly did not know how to drive a stick shift. I watched him struggle with the controls while another employee literally explained to him what the three pedals were.
At that point, I specifically asked that someone else move my car because I was not comfortable having someone learn to drive a manual transmission in my vehicle. The response I received was, “He has to learn somehow.”
I made it very clear that I did not want my car to be the test subject. My request was ignored. When I then explicitly said I wanted him out of my car, I was told that I needed to wait in the lobby, and they proceeded to leave him in the vehicle anyway.
An employee being inexperienced is one thing. Completely disregarding a customer who has specifically told you that an inexperienced employee does not have permission to operate their vehicle is another.
There were several employees present who could have handled this differently. Instead, they decided that training this employee was more important than respecting the owner of the vehicle standing directly in front of them.
I will not return to this location.
