I've always felt like these Valvoline instant oil change shops always did me right...until I went here. Team was very polite, friendly and helpful...5 stars to them. Their oil change states 5 quarts of oil. Per owners manual, my car takes 5.7 quarts of oil and I was charged an additional $9.09 "extra oil charge." For .7 quarts of oil? Really? I'm already paying $100 for an oil change on a dinky little Ford escape. A full quart of this exact oil (even the Valvoline brand) on Amazon is $8 for the WHOLE quart. Feels like I'm getting nickeled and dimed over half a quart of oil, which likely wasn't even a full .7 considering the age of my vehicle. It's likely more like .3-.4 additional quarts...but I digress. I got full synthetic oil in my car. That oil is rated to last between 7,500 - 10,000 miles depending on driving and conditions. Best case...10,000 miles. Worst case...5,000. I came in with my odometer at 109,000 and I was given a sticker saying my next oil change should be at 112,000. Only 3k miles? On full synthetic? Either your technicians are ignorant as to how long synthetic oil lasts, or your shop is hoping everyone is too stupid to know better. I'm betting on the latter. On that schedule, I could pay for 2-3 oil changes in the time one round of synthetic will last me, which I'm assuming is Valvoline's primary marketing plan. Absolutely will not be doing business with this or any Valvoline shop again. People...check the life of the oil you get. The "every 3,000 miles" gig is over. Synthetic oil has come a LONG way and lasts WAY longer than 3,000 miles.
