Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I received a European full synthetic oil change from this Valvoline on April 8, 2026 at 141,632 miles. My vehicle is now at 147,151 miles, which means I have driven approximately 5,519 miles since the service. About a week ago, my oil light came on. I do not have any visible oil leaks, no puddles, and no obvious signs of oil leaking from the vehicle. That is exactly why I contacted Valvoline with concern. Instead of focusing on the actual issue why my oil light came on after a European full synthetic oil change I was told by customer service supervisor that because my vehicle is high mileage, they recommend coming back every 3,000 miles and that it is printed on the receipt. That response is unacceptable. A printed 3,000-mile recommendation does not explain why an oil light came on. It does not confirm whether the correct oil was used, whether the correct amount of oil was added, whether the oil filter or drain plug was properly secured, whether the oil level was checked correctly, or whether something was missed during service. If Valvoline is going to sell European full synthetic oil, they should not dismiss a customer’s oil light concern by pointing to a generic high-mileage recommendation. I paid for a premium oil service and expected a proper explanation, not a scripted response. I am requesting that Valvoline provide a full inspection, confirm the exact oil type, oil weight/specification, number of quarts used, current oil level, and check the filter and drain plug area. This should have been handled as a service concern, not brushed off as “your car is high mileage.”

The appointment felt rushed and all about making extra sales. After I left there. My oil filter leaked all over and the gasket was sticking out. Luckily I noticed right away and took to another mechanic. Could have been way worse. When I filed a complaint with valvoline, they didn't seem to care, at all. Be very cautious if you go to this business.
