Came in here for a routine oil change. They went over the car, said everything looked good. They mentioned that if I want them to service the transmission fluid that they'll need to change it because if they don't they won't service it in the future due to high mileage. I went ahead and did the service recommendation so that they would be able to service it in the future. They flushed out the transmission fluid twice and replaced it with their recommended fluid. Within the next few days the transmission started acting odd and slipping. It would rev up really high and then eventually go down and then go into gear. I took it to them and they said that there was no issues. I went home and parked it just to prevent further damage. After a few months I took it back out of the garage and was driving it around and it started slipping again. When I reviewed it with Valvoline they said that it was coincidental that they changed the fluid and then the transmission stopped working. I've now tried to fix it at my house since I don't have the money to replace the entire transmission. The whole process has left me frustrated and without my vehicle. After looking up the factory transmission flush recommendations, which I assume that Valvoline would have done, they recommend a triple drain and fill in order to flush out an entire transmission system. Valvoline was able to suck out what they could with their machine and then replace what they took out. I'm not sure this is the proper procedure for Hondas. Long story short, just make sure you look up any service recommendations and make sure that the service they're going to provide is going to match what the dealership would have done.
