Valvoline Instant Oil Change

My visit today 04/04/26 for an oil change on my wife’s car. Usually, the service here has been excellent and I’ve always left satisfied, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, today’s experience fell short of those expectations. First, I noticed the technician used the wrong oil. When I pointed this out, he admitted the mistake and assured me he was pumping it out to replace it with the correct oil. While I appreciate the correction, it was concerning that this happened in the first place. Then, while the technician was unscrewing the air filter container, one of the screws was dropped. I asked the staff if all the screws had been put back, and was told I came in with a missing screw. I explained that I regularly change the filter myself, so this was definitely not the case. As it turns out, the technician found the missing screw and secured it properly. These events have made me question whether anything else might have been missed during today’s service. If I hadn’t noticed and questioned these issues, I’m concerned they would have gone unresolved. Sadly, this experience has made me reconsider returning in the future. Update: I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the call from the store manager. It was thoughtful of him to reach out and apologize, and I truly value the effort to make things right. His initiative in addressing the situation made a positive difference, and I am grateful for the attention showed to make things right.
