Very disappointing experience with Valvoline. I went to Valvoline for a simple oil change, and during that visit, washer fluid was put into the coolant system of my Toyota. This was not a coolant service that I requested.
I was then told the coolant system had been flushed, but when I took the vehicle to the Toyota dealership, I was informed that it had not been properly flushed and that the coolant needed to be properly drained, flushed, and replaced.
On top of that, Valvoline used universal coolant instead of the Toyota-specified coolant required for my vehicle. Since this issue occurred during a service I went to Valvoline for, I expected them to take responsibility and pay for the proper flush and replacement with the manufacturer-specified coolant at the Toyota dealership.
Instead, Valvoline refused to cover the dealership’s cost to properly correct the problem.
I went to Valvoline for nothing more than an oil change and ended up dealing with a coolant-system issue and an additional repair bill. The way this situation was handled has seriously damaged my trust in the company. Toyota owners should be especially careful to verify what fluids are being put into their vehicle and whether the correct manufacturer-specified coolant is being used. Never again will they have my business
