Had my oil changed here on April 10th. On April 13th, my car ended up broken down on the side of the turnpike. The problem was a failed Mass Air Flow sensor and the cause was determined to be the air filter had been installed improperly. The dealership determined the air filter had been installed backwards. While they were unable verify the filter was installed improperly at the time the vehicle was towed in, they were able to confirm there was dirt in both sides of the filter. Either VOIC installed the filter backwards, or it was installed backwards when new and it had been backwards for the previous 5k miles and they 'corrected' it, this mass air flow sensor was damaged due to their actions. What is annoying is I sat in my vehicle and watched the 'lead' tech explain the importance of installing the filter the right way to the subordinate and it was most likely this action that resulted in my vehicle breaking down and having to be towed. The mechanic at the dealership did state that if the filter had been installed backwards to begin with, I would not have had a problem if the tech had just put it back the way he found it or suggested I replace the filter. Thanks for the $400 damage you did to my vehicle! I won't be back...
