I’ve been a long-time customer of the Valvoline at 780 Northern Boulevard, Great Neck, NY 11021 with a 2011 Honda Pilot and before that a 2005 Pilot. Usually go for something extra as routine maintenance when getting an oil change. So on April 4 2026 the guy said I could use a new battery. I thought it was a marginal call but said OK. The next day my wife used the car to go to work. When she returned to the car it would not start. She called me panicked. I explained that I bought a new battery the day before. She had to call an Uber to get somewhere quick and then returned later to the car. Then she called AAA. When the tow truck driver came he looked at the car said it was a battery issue. When my wife said it was a new battery he looked at it and said it wasn’t installed properly. He recharged it. When Valvoline Customer Care sent me a survey I cited the problem and my dissatisfaction. I forward documentation (AAA visit and Uber). They promised to look into it. After a few days I asked what was the status of the complaint. They replied that “This has been forwarded to our Management team for further review.” Again after a few days I asked about the status. At that point did not get any reply. Got another customer survey instead. I noted the fact that the complaint had been ignored. I would assume they have cameras inside the Valvoline work area and may have been able to look at a tape. Regardless, they seem to have dismissed this for no reason. I have likely spent thousands of dollars there over the years, not just for oil changes but other stuff. Obviously never going back there again. And no one else should either.
